To whom it may concern:

Please excuse _____________ from work on Thursday, June 26th.

I understand that this absence may reduce the productivity of your workplace, but I can assure you that it is for an important cause. The #USMNT has a critical World Cup game vs. Germany and we will need the full support of the nation if we are to advance to the next round.

By the way, you should act like a good leader and take the day off as well. Go USA!

The head coach for the United States World Cup soccer team has written an excuse for fans to miss work, and watch today's game. The United States plays Germany in Recife at 12:00 PM EST.

Millions of Americans are expected to tune in to watch the game, and see if Team USA makes it to the next round. A win, or tie with Germany will send them to the knockout round.

Team @ussoccer tweeted the note Thursday morning, and it has been favorited and retweeted thousands of times.
