By now, the dust is beginning to settle.
It all seemed like a nightmare for the Brazilian fans to watch their dreams of a World Cup come crashing down at the hands of Germany in a 7-1 loss on Tuesday. The now iconic images showed fans overcome by emotion, many with tears in their eyes as they had to accept the crushing blow.
None, however compared to this.
That's Clovis Fernandes, one of the most famous soccer fans in Brazil. He often attends World Cup matches and has traveled to over 140 games in 60 countries.
If one had to describe how the match felt to the Brazilian fans, it could be summed up by the emotion you can see in Fernandes' face.
What most didn't see, however, was the mustached man having a very sweet moment following the painful defeat.
Fernandes, as he handed over his homemade trophy to a German fan, could be heard saying "Take it to the final! As you can see, it is not easy, but you deserve it. Congratulations."
It goes without saying that he was more than devastated to watch Brazil get embarrassed in front of the entire world. But he had enough respect for the other team to let go of his World Cup trophy.
