Following weeks of negotiations state leaders agree on a way to balance Michigan's $39.7 billion dollar budget and wipe out a billion dollar shortfall.
Cuts include K-12 education, and a decrease in funding for intermediate school districts. Revenue enhancements such as the casino and cigarette tax will also bridge the funding gap along with funding shifts that could postpone some government projects.
Legislators have yet to agree on funding issues for higher education.
The final vote on the budget could come sometime next week.
