They walked into mediation at 9am Friday morning. Just after 11pm a tentative deal was announced.
Both sides were tight-lipped about the negotiations all day (the first day of labor talks since last Monday), but it was known that progress was being made on all issues. Most importantly, pensions and staffing.
The deal is tentative, but both sides will be recommending membership accept the agreement.
The nurses union is expected to vote on the proposal Sunday between 10am and 6pm. If it passes, they could be back to work by Tuesday.
