More than 900 Michigan State Police troopers wear the vests which are made with the product zylon. Second Chance says they've conducted safety tests and no longer believe their products made with the zylon material are safe.
Second Chance says close to 100-thousand vests around the country may be unsafe.
Back in 2003, the company issued a recall for some 130-thousand vests made entirely of zylon. Now, they are urging the use of vests made in any part with zylon to be discontinued.
Representatives with the Michigan State Police will be meeting with Second Chance next Wednesday.
