The plan includes the closure of four schools approved back in February. It also includes the hopeful sale of the Main Street School by June, 30.
Severence incentives are also getting some 170 teachers to opt for early retirement. Other positions (administrative, clerical, office) will be lost due to the closure of the four schools. Also, declining enrollment will force the elimination of some teaching positions.
This is a preliminary overview, and includes a variety of items. A complete plan will be presented, voted and approved by the board in the coming weeks.
