Craig Risk was doing yardwork when he spotted the pipebomb underneath his home's gas meter. He called authorities who eventually bought in the MSP Bomb Squad.
The bomb squad used a robot to move the bomb about 25 feet away from the gas meter, tucked at the base of the house next to a concrete stairwell. The bomb was then detonated with next to no damage done to the house.
Police say the bomb was considered 'live,' and Risk suspects the bomb was there for quite some time. Just days earlier his grandchildren were playing in the front yard - just feet from the bomb.
An investigation is curretly underway into the bomb's origin. Along with the Risk's, two other homes were evacuated while the police dealt with the bomb.
