Mitt Romney's campaign says the Republican presidential candidate is attending a tea party event in southeastern Michigan on Thursday, five days ahead of the state's primary election.
Romney's campaign says the Milford Tea Party appearance starts at 7 p.m. at the Bakers of Milford banquet hall. It's in Oakland County's Milford Township, about 25 miles west-northwest of Detroit.
The ex-Massachusetts governor is a native of Michigan, where his father George served as governor in the 1960s. He's been fighting against a surge of support for ex-Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
