A new partnership will give high schoolers a taste of what's expected of them once they get to college. Holt High School can now take classes that can be applied to their transcript, if they choose to attend Olivet college. The liberal arts school says the partnership couldn't come at a better time.
Maria Davis, Olivet College Provost & Dean. "There's a movement in higher education circles to be thinking more in terms of K-16 education, not K-12 plus college, so there's a move to help make that transfer to college a little more seamless, and this is one we can help do that."
Olivet College says nearly 25% of its student body comes from Ingham and Eaton counties. Holt public schools hopes to sign agreements like this with more colleges in the future.
