DETROIT (AP) -- Six people have been killed and nine shot during a 24-hour period in Detroit.
The Detroit News reports the violence began Thursday and extended into Friday.
Of the half-dozen homicides, five were from gunshot wounds and the sixth was from a fatal beating.
So far this year, there have been 131 homicides in the city.
That's a decline from the 150 homicides at the same time in 2013.
