Two Michigan State police lieutenants are charged with racketeering in the theft of property and money seized during drug investigations.
Attorney General Bill Schuette announced charges Wednesday against 48-year-old Luke Davis and 42-year-old Emmanuel Riopelle that include conducting a criminal enterprise, embezzlement and misconduct in office.
Lawrence Dusseau of Monroe County also is charged with racketeering, embezzlement and tax violations. Arraignments were expected later Wednesday.
Schuette and State Police Director Kriste Kibbey Etue say the operation was run out of the narcotics investigation office in Monroe.
A suspect said in 2008 that property was stolen from his home.
Authorities found the stolen items, drugs, jewelry and other items in Davis's home.
Davis and Riopelle were arraigned Wednesday in Monroe. The Associated Press couldn't immediately learn if they have lawyers.
