The standoff with a suspected bank robber in Shiawassee County is over but police aren't saying how it ended. The sheriff told News 10's Lorne Fultonberg he won't have any comment until Tuesday morning.
It started when the PNC Bank on Grand River Avenue in Meridian Township was robbed around 2:15 Monday. The suspect headed north then led police on a chase headed east on I-69. Police forced him off the highway and onto the median near Bancroft, where the man ran into the woods. Police followed his tracks to a hunting blind. They saw movement inside and brought a chopper in to monitor the area. The situation settled into a standoff that lasted until a little after 11pm.
