A Jackson County man who admitted to sexually assaulting a mentally ill teenager is going to prison.
26-year-old Andrew Blass of Brooklyn pleaded guilty last week to two counts of criminal sexual conduct. He was sentenced to 6 to 15 years in prison, with credit for time served.
Blass was arrested in March, after an investigation found he had sexually assaulted a 19-year-old female on two different occasions. Police say the victim is cognitively impaired with the mental capacity of a 6-to-10-year-old.
Police say the incidents occurred in Leoni and Napoleon Townships, and that Blass and the victim worked together-- he was her supervisor.
