Two men are facing charges after a shooting in Lansing this morning.
Officers were dispatched to a possible shooting in the area of Ada and Fayette Streets just before 2am. After talking to neighbors and witnesses, officers learned a 19-year-old had been taken to the hospital.
Police located the teen, who had a gunshot would to the upper leg, at a hospital. The teen gave officers several different accounts of what happened at the intersection, before finally admitting he shot himself in the leg.
Another man, who was with the teen at the time of the shooting, was located and found to be in possession of a gun officers believe was used in the shooting. The 21-year-old man also had narcotics on him.
Police are sending the report to the Ingham County Prosecutor, seeking charges ranging from lying to police to reckless discharge of weapon, among other things.
