An Eaton County Sheriff's deputy is recovering after a suspect took off during a traffic stop and hit the deputy with his car.
It happened early Friday near Old Lansing and Waverly Roads in Lansing Township. The Eaton County Sheriff's Office says the deputy pulled the suspect over and was about to arrest him when the suspect took off in his vehicle and knocked down the deputy. The sheriff's office isn't elaborating on the deputy's injuries, but said they were minor.
The suspect was located a short distance away from the traffic stop with the help from a Clinton County K-9. He was taken to the Eaton County Jail pending charges.
