Neighborhood Crime Watch

In tonight's News Ten Neighborhood Crime Watch, Eaton County Sheriff's deputies were able to keep several thieves smoke-free recently.
They were called to the Speedway gas station at the corner of Creyts road, and St. Joe Highway for a call about an un-armed theft of cigarettes.
A deputy spotted a white van speeding away from the area, and attempted to stop it.
The driver sped up and tried to turn into a private residence at Mount Hope and Royston,, they didn't make the turn and ran over a mailbox.
One suspect ran away, and the other two were arrested at the scene.
The stolen cigarettes were recovered, and the third suspect was later taken into custody.
The three traded in the stolen butts for some time behind bars.
In Jackson, a police officer responded to the 17-hundred block of First street for a breaking and entering complaint in an upstairs apartment.
It appears a thief climbed onto the second story balcony to get in,, and stole several pieces of electronic equipment.
Also from Jackson County,, the Blackman Township Police Department continues to receive complaints from people who are getting "scam letters" which say they've won money, and are given a check.
The letter indicates that they need to cash the check and send a portion of the money back to the united kingdom for tax purposes.
The checks are fake, and to avoid becoming a victim don't send any money.
