Seven people are charged with running a mortgage fraud scheme in the Lansing area for three years. Eric Williams, Aaron Teachout, Isaac Modert, Mario Giannandrea, Rick Artibee, Dennis Sare and Nicole Burda were arrested Thursday. Federal prosecutors say they would apply for mortgages, split the money and let the houses go into foreclosure. Prosecutors believe they stole $1.7 million that way from 2005 through 2007. They could get 30-years in prison if convicted.

Well not to right a wrong but they want to give these individuals hefty sentences but the people involved in killing that little girl awhile back during the home invasion are going to be out sooner than these guys...hhmmm...another example of a flawed system.

Gee, it would be awesome if a few of the bankers who ripped off people who legitimately applied for mortgages would get a jail sentence too. Not saying what these people did was right, just saying it's amazing how fast they get jailed while bankers are still out and doing business as usual.
