LEONI TWP - State police say they have caught a driver transporting 13 pounds of marijuana along I-94 in Jackson County. The arrest was made Tuesday afternoon along the highway near Race Road in Leoni Township. A trooper pulled the car over for a registration violation. While investigating, the trooper observed suspected criminal activity and decided to search the vehicle. That's when the trooper found two large bundles of marijuana packed inside dog food bags. Those bags were hidden inside exterior toolboxes on the vehicle.

The 46-year-old Alabama man has prior narcotics trafficking offenses. He's being held in Jackson County Jail until he is arraigned.

13 lbs. Whew! What a bust! Someone will harvest that much out of their backyard within the next week. Driving with expired plates? A police detective I knew told me once, "I usually don't catch the really smart ones. Luckily, there are enough idiots around to keep me employed". These guy counts in the later..give him his, "sign". As for you brave Anonymous folks...only idiots and fools use drugs? Go down to the bar and express that attitude to the patrons and see where that gets you. Oh yeah, booze is not a drug, I forgot. I found out years ago I'd rather party with the potheads than the drunks. No fights or sexual assaults with the potheads..just a lot of missing boxes of Captain Crunch. Demand increasing due to the, "Medical Marijuana" policy..nah. The demand has always been there. More down and out folks will try to self medicate with various drugs and some will get trapped in addiction. We'll jail them, instead of helping them. Recovery doesn't pay the cops much.

He has 13 lbs of marijuana and his plates are expired!! Just goes to show you that people who do and sell drugs are idiots!!! Why go to all the work of putting it in dog food bags and hiding it in the tool box when your plates are expired and exposed to the whole hwy?? Here is a fine example of your brain on drugs and some people say it doesn't affect you well apparently they are all high too!! Too dumb and high to realize that your own brain cells are dead!
