LANSING - Police are offering a $500 reward to help put a stop to a rash of tire-slashings in one Lansing neighborhood.

Thursday morning car owners woke to find that at least 5 more cars had their tires slashed in the Old Everett neighborhood near Holmes Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Earlier this week, 18 cars had their tires slashed in the same area, mainly along Burchfield Drive and Weger Place. Lansing Police increased patrols there, after the first round of tire-slashings, but the vandals were still able to do more damage Wednesday night.

A witness reported seeing a couple of people on bicycles in the area Monday night, but no one has reported seeing tires get slashed.

A $500 reward is now being offered by police to help root out who is cutting the tires. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lansing Police at 483-STOP or text message to 847-411. Start the message with LPD517 then leave the message.
