Authorities have arrested a Grand Rapids-area church volunteer they say took an infant from the worship center's nursery.
Kentwood Community Church's executive pastor, the Rev. Jerry DeRuiter, tells The Grand Rapids Press nursery workers were doing a routine roster check when the child was noted missing just after noon Sunday.
WOOD-TV reports church officials reviewed a surveillance system and confirmed it was a volunteer who last was seen with the girl.
Police went to the suspect's home, where the child was discovered. The volunteer is being housed in the Kent County jail and is to be arraigned Monday.

Even in the most trusted situations, trust can be misplaced. Even with scrutiny of screening, the church did have safeguards in place to identify and assist with officials. I would feel comfortable in going to this church.
