A man is in jail Monday morning after being shot in the parking lot at the Venue Nightclub on South Cedar Street in Lansing around 1:30 a.m.

Police say, according to witnesses and the victim, there was an altercation of the parking lot of nightclub and at least one shotgun was fired. When the man was hit, he fled the scene. Police say they followed tips for hours about where he was, but the victim eventually checked himself into a local hospital at 3:20 Monday morning with non-life-threatening wounds. Those included buck-shot wounds to the face, neck and abdomen.

The Lansing man, in his 20s, was arrested at the hospital for outstanding warrants. He remains in the Lansing City Jail, police say.

Police say they have no suspects in custody.

Seems like whatever bar or nightclub goes into that location, shootings and that sort of stuff happend very regularly. Seems like keeping the space vacant or putting in something other than a nightclub would be a lot safer.
