Police in Marshall have arrested a Fort Wayne, Ind., man in the deaths of his 72-year-old mother and 3-year-old daughter.
Acting police Chief Scott McDonald says the 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday upon his release from Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. He's being held in the Calhoun County Jail and is expected to be arraigned today.
The victims' bodies and the suspect were found Friday night at a motel in Marshall.
McDonald tells the Battle Creek Enquirer that the suspect apparently made calls or sent text messages to relatives in Fort Wayne threatening to kill others and himself. They then tracked the suspect's cell phone to Marshall.
