Tonight's News Ten Neighborhood Crime Watch begins in Clinton County, where DeWitt Township Police have been dealing with a number of home breaking and entering,,, and larceny from auto reports.
According to an alert issued by DeWitt Township Police Chief Brian Russell,, the Springbrook Hills and Saffron Hills subdivisions were recently targeted by thieves.
They mainly hit unlocked cars, stealing anything of value.
They also stole items from vehicles in garages that were left open.
In one instance a thief entered a home thru an unlocked garage,,,,, several items and cash were stolen.
In another case the suspect came face to face with the homeowner who woke up when they heard a noise in the garage.
Most of these incidents have happened in the wee hours of the morning, between two and six a.m.
In the city of DeWitt, police there are investigating a home invasion in the one-thousand block of East Geneva.
A neighbor saw two white males in their early 20's enter the home and leave around three minutes later carrying a small bag.
The homeowner reports cash and jewelry was taken.
Lansing police report a purse snatching near the corner of Waverly and Jolly roads.
A woman was sitting on a bus bench, talking on a cell phone,, when a man grabbed her purse off the bench and ran into the Waverly Park Apartment Complex.
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office has a couple of crime reports from Delhi Township.
In the 11-hundred block of Wildflower, a homeowner's shed was broken into,, three bicycles were stolen, along with a tool box.
Then at the Crystal Bar at 42-79 West Holt Road someone stole a Dart Bank bag out of the bar's safe, which contained approximately one-thousand dollars in cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office reports five theft from vehicle reports in the Vandercook Lake area of Summit Township,, they happened in the three and four hundred blocks of Third and Fourth streets, and the 900 block of Annetta,, stolen were two GPS units, two purses, and a digital camera.
