SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Mitt Romney's campaign says the ex-Massachusetts governor is holding a town hall meeting in Detroit's northern suburbs as he seeks votes in Michigan's Republican presidential primary one week from now.
Romney's staff says the meeting starts at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday in Macomb County's Shelby Township. It's taking place at the site of Eagle Manufacturing Corp., a maker of industrial robot systems.
Romney is a Michigan native but has been fighting hard against a surge of support for ex-Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum. A poll of likely voters earlier this month showed the two running about even in Michigan.
Michigan and Arizona hold their primaries Feb. 28.
