Slow Home Coming

Posted: $util.date("h:mm a MMM d, yyyy",$story.contentLiveDate,$timeZone)
Reporter: Wayne Parry/AP

It's been nine weeks since Superstorm Sandy, and residents of the Jersey Shore still are coming back in only a trickle.
The slow pace of return helps illustrate the difficulties in recovering from the Oct. 29 historic storm.
Jim and Joanne Murphy are among the few residents who returned Monday amid "repopulation" plans in certain communities.
Aside from a caking of mud on the outside, their home in the Normandy Beach section of Toms River was fine. Joanne Murphy says she and her husband are "exuberant."
She says they may even go to the beach on Tuesday because it's supposed to be 50 degrees.
