Reporter: AP

A strong low pressure trough will take shape in the eastern half of the country Tuesday as a prelude to a very active remainder of the week. A storm within this trough will begin the day over the Southeast before moving off the Southeast Coast. A moderate amount of moisture will produce moderate rain along with thunderstorms from Mississippi through the Carolina coasts. This storm will intensify significantly overnight Tuesday and Wednesday as it moves off the coast and may become a major headache for the Northeast and areas hit by Sandy.
Another storm will plunge into the Upper Midwest and Ohio Valley. Because this storm will accompany cold air from Canada, its associated precipitation will be a mix of rain and snow, with the heaviest snow falling in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
In the West, a storm will move out of the Pacific Ocean and move into the Pacific Northwest. This storm likely to bring rain and high elevation snow in Washington and Oregon.
While the above mentioned precipitation will bring some problems, the overall forecast for Election Day is decent. The largest headaches may occur in the Southeast as there is where the heaviest rain is expected.
The Northeast will rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Southeast will see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Upper Midwest will rise into the 30s and 40s, while the Northwest will see temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The Southwest will rise into the 70s, 80s, and some 90s.
