Flint Flooding

Posted: $util.date("h:mm a MMM d, yyyy",$story.contentLiveDate,$timeZone)
Reporter: AP

Officials this week are surveying damage from a storm that caused flooding earlier this month in Genesee County.
The Flint Journal reports preliminary damage assessment teams that include local, state and federal officials hope to finish their review by Wednesday evening. The findings will help determine whether any federal aid may be available to help residents and business owners.
The review comes after Gov. Rick Snyder declared a state of emergency, which makes state resources available to address remaining threats to public health and safety.
Federal Emergency Management Agency officials are involved in the survey. The storm started May 3 and dumped more than 5 inches of rain in and around Flint.
