Brandan Kearney has left the Michigan State basketball program. Kearney delivered the news to MSU coach Tom Izzo upon the team's return from Christmas. MSU begins Big Ten play next Tuesday atg 2pm at Minnesota. The deal was concluded Thursday night.
Izzo said he was shocked and disappointed and didn't see Kearney's move coming. Izzo says he has no idea where Kearney will end up, but he must sit out next season. He would then have two more years of eligibility since this is his sophomore season at MSU.
