Connecticut basketball coach Jim Calhoun has been released from the hospital following surgery to repair a hip fracture. Calhoun went home Tuesday afternoon, is reportedly in good spirits and will begin rehabilitation. No timetable has been set for his return to work. The 70-year old Hall of Famer inijured his left hipSaturday in a fall during a bicycle ride near his beach home in Madison and underwent surgery that night to repair the fracture. Calhoun has been head coach for 40 seasons and there is no word on whether he'll coach U Conn i n its opening game in Germany November 9th against Michigan State.
