Jesse Hernandez improved his pitching record to 6-0 Monday night hurling the Lansing Lugnuts to a 7-1 win over the visiting Lake County Captains. Like Saturday night, the Lugnuts scored 6 runs in the first inning and were never headed. Hernandez lowered his earned run average to 0.84 and K. C. Hobson hit his 5th home run for the winners. Lansing is now 44-19 on the season and gone for the final games of the season's first half and the all-star break. Lansing's first home game in the second half is June 22nd.
