Gibson's Son Chosen by Diamondbacks

Former Spartan Kirk Gibson is manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. His son, Cam, is a high school baseball star in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and has signed to play at Michigan State. But in the 38th round of the amateur draft Wednesday the Diamondbacks chose Gibson. Now he has a decision to make. Pro ball, maybe one day playing for his dad, or college baseball at MSU. If Gibson does not sign by July 13th, he cannot be chosen until after his junior year is completed. One other incoming Spartan freshman was also chosen Wednesday-- Holt's Justin Alleman in the 18th round by the Kansas City Royals.
