Max Scherzer pitched the Detroit Tigers to a 7-3 win over the Red Sox in Boston Thursday night. The Tigers won the finale of the four game set and go home 4-6 on their trip, 24-27 overall. Alex Avila was dinged in the mask midway through the game by a foulb all and seemed to be okay later in the clubhouse. Casey Crosby makes his major league pitching debut for the Tigers Friday night in the opener of a series against the New York Yankees.
