Justin Masterson matched Justin Verlander pitch for pitch, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 2-1 win over the struggling Detroit Tigers Thursday afternoon in Cleveland. The Indians swept the three game series and now lead the Tigers by six games in the Central Division. The Tigers move on to MInnesota for their next three games, then to Boston for four more before returning home. Verlander gave up a home run to Shin Soo Choo on the third pitch of the game, but struck out the side in the eighth. His record falls to 5-2. The Tigers now have a 20-24 record and have lost six of their last eight.
