IndyCar officials have decided not to give Lotus engines added boost for Sunday's Indianapolis 500. Only two cars are using the struggling engines. Simona de Silvestro qualified 32nd with a four lap average of 214 mph plus on Sunday. Rookie Jean Alesi was the slowest qualifer at 210 plus. Some driver, including Alesi, have expressed concern that the disparity between Ryan Briscoe's pole winning speed of 226 plus and the two Lotus drivers could creat a dangerous situation on the Brickyard's 2.5 mile oval. Alesi is hoping to find some speed in his car during practice runs this week.
