The 54-hole NCAA men's Regional golf championship began Thursday at the U of M course in Ann Arbor. Michigan and Michigan State each have one player entered. Spartan junior Dan Ellis began with three bogeys and finished with a 79, tied for 65th place. He tees off at 9:40am Friday from the 10th tee. Michigan's Matt Thompson fired an even par 71 and is tied for 15th place after firing matching two birdies with two bogeys.
