Bill Skowron, known as "Moose" in his heyday died Friday at the age of 81 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. Skowron played 14 major league seasons, hitting 211 home runs. He played from 1954-62 as the Yankees' first baseman and was a four time all star. He helped the Yankees win four World Series titles. He'd been working with the Chicago White Sox, who announced his passing.
