Jose Valverde pitched a scoreless 9th inning and the Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 7-5 Thursday at Comerica Park. It was the first win for the Tigers this season over the Indians in 6 tries. The Tigers piled up a 7-1 lead-- two runs coming on Miguel Cabrera's 13th homer. But Cleveland left two runners on in each of the 8th and 9th innings without scoring. Detroit is now 26-31 on the season. The win concludes a 2-4 homestand. The Tigers go back to inter league play with 3 games in Cincinnati this weekend against the Reds.
