Eastern Michigan broke a scoreless tie with a 12-run third inning Wednesday and went on to beat Michigan State 13-5 in baseball at McLane Stadium. Tim Simpson went 2 1/3 innings for the Spartans on the mound giving up 7 of the 12 runs. MSU falls to 20-11 on the season and plays three games at Indiana Friday through Sunday. The Spartans are 3-3 in Big Ten play.
