The NFL Friday fined Houston Texans' defensive lineman J. J. Watt $15,750 for a hit he placed on Detroit Lions' quarterback Matt Stafford Thanksgiving Day. Watt was called for roughing the passer after he struck Stafford in the head and neck area. It was one of eight fines levied across the league by the NFL during Friday's business day. Stafford was not hurt.
