Negotiations aimed at ending the NHL lockout have broken up for the day, with union head Donald Fehr saying Wednesday's talks produced no movement on the major issues. Earlier, players gave management anew proposal that the union sai dleft sides less than $40 million apart annually over a five year contract. Fehr says that the plaeyrs had moved more than halfway toward the owners position with the latest proposal. The lockout is in its 67th day with one quarter of the regular seaon already cancelled.
