Despite a bogey on the final hole, Adam Scott tied the course record Thursday en route to the first round lead at the British Open golf championship in Lytham and St. Anne's, England. Scott ended with a 64 on the par 70 course, one shot ahead of several others including Zach Johnson, fresh from winning the John Deere Classic this last Sunday in Silvis, Illinois. Tiger Woods fired a 67 and Phil Mickelson struggled to a 73.
