Lansing native Earvin "Magic" Johnson is launching his own television network at the end of June. It is called Aspire and it's a 24-hour channel focusing on what Johnson calls positive, uplifting images of African Americans. All of the programming will be written, produced and directed by African Americans. The launch is set for late June. The 52-year old Johnson is due in Lansing August 2nd to attend the induction of his 1977 Everett High School basketball team into the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame.
