In Okemos, Dr. Dennis Perry at Meridian Primary Care, a partner of McLaren Greater Lansing, is treating a lot of patients with the flu.

This is the fourth week in a row the flu has been going around.

The symptoms are: fever above 101 degrees, intense body aches, fatigue, sore throat, cough, headache and chills.

The flu usually clears up on its own in seven to 10 days. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever control and to relieve body aches.

Stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever has subsided.

If you have flu symptoms and are at risk of complications, see your doctor right away.
