In Lansing, Physician Asst. Dan Moore at McLaren Greater Lansing Internal Medicine is treating upper respiratory infections.

The symptoms include: nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, coughing, fatigue, headache, and itchy, watery eyes. You may also have a fever, though that's more common in children.

To treat an upper respiratory infection, take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever and pain relief. Over-the-counter antihistamines, decongestants and cough medicines can help too.

You may want to use a vaporizer or humidifier to help with congestion.

If you have a high fever or pain in the face or upper teeth, you should see a doctor. You should also see a doctor if if your symptoms last longer than a week.
