Potential Right To Work Legislation Pending

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The leader of the Michigan Senate says he'll meet again with the fellow Republican House leader and Gov. Rick Snyder about potential right-to-work legislation limiting unions' ability to collect fees from nonunion workers.
Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville told The Associated Press the issue will be on the agenda when he, Snyder and House Speaker Jase Bolger talk Tuesday afternoon. Richardville says they hope to come to a "united conclusion" on the issue dividing labor and business communities but that's "not a foregone conclusion."
The Michigan Chamber of Commerce has announced its support for such legislation, and backers and critics are lobbying at the Capitol.
Michigan voters rejected a ballot proposal last month that would have enshrined collective bargaining rights in the state Constitution and banned right-to-work laws.
