Out-of-Control Car Causes Multi-Car Accident on U.S. 127

A northbound car went out of control on U.S. 127 Friday afternoon, went across the median and crashed into two cars traveling south.

The accident happened shortly after 12:30, just south of Mason near Barnes Road. The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour while the wreckage was cleared.

Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Emergency crews from Mason and Leslie were sent to the accident, along with Ingham county sheriff's deputies.

Investigators say the highway had been slickened by the rain-snow mixture and that contributed to the accident.
