The items on this ballot could mean big changes to people in Jackson County.

"I have two grandchildren in the special education program, and I certainly want to see that (millage) pass ... and to keep our Sheriff. I think he's doing a great job," said Marie Yates before voting at Jackson's First Presbyterian Church.

Loyal Hire agrees: "Also, the section having to do with the senior citizens millage is very important to us."

These are the people who will decide these issues, and more. Especially since many of the precincts will barely see over 100 voters; predicting at the end of the night, only 15% will have shown.

"Knowledgeable people in the community are neglecting this opportunity ... it only takes a few minutes and it's vitally important," continued Hire.

"More people need to come out. We need to support our community," said Yates.

Otherwise, the few people who are voting will decide the entire county's fate for the rest of them.
