Reporter: News Ten

Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd between Holmes Road and Cavanaugh Road has re-opened as of 4:15PM Monday.

The normally busy stretch of road was shut down for approximately 4 hours, after a car whose occupants were suspected in a shooting smashed head-on into an oncoming vehicle. Two other cars were also involved in the crash. Five people were taken to the hospital including at least one of the three shooting suspects.

Lansing Police say the three men fled in the car after an apartment building in the 3200 block of S. Washington Avenue. A patrol car briefly gave chase, but police say the officer broke off the chase before the suspects' vehicle crashed.

Watch News 10 tonight at 6 o'clock for video of the accident and an update on the shooting and robbery that led to it.
