The high temperatures didn't keep the crowds from waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
Even a few of his supporters attended who remember him when he was young, like Penny Ansel, who worked for his father when he was Michigan's Governor: "I think he has the wisdom and integrity of his father."
But on top of the hundreds of supporters surrounding the stage for his speech, about a hundred more stood behind the borders with their warnings.
"Romney has an economy that makes the rich, richer and the poor, poorer," said LaTonya Walker of Lansing. She protested in a group of Obama supporters calling themselves "the 99%."
However Romney's supporters at the rally say the opposite; that the only hope for the economy is for him to take office.
