Hundreds turned out to hear what presidential candidate Mitt Romney had to say to the people of Mid-Michigan.

"Four years ago we elected a president we didn't know very much about," said Romney in his speech. "He talked about hope and change. He was gonna make the economy better with hope and change. Now, he's hoping to change the subject."

After the 15 minute speech, which focused on the Obama administration, Romney and his wife stepped inside DeWitt's iconic Sweetie-Licious bakery for a pie baking lesson with Owner Linda Hundt.

"It was really fun teaching Mitt, he was actually pretty darn good at it. And Ann's a really good pie-baker, so I didn't have to teach her a darn thing," said Hundt.

Together, they made an apple and cherry pie; a recipe she calls "Honest Abe's."

"Each of my pies have a story, so they come with a mantra of how to lead your life a little better."

She chose the pie, named for the former president, to represent the dream for a brighter future; hoping Romney and his wife will keep a slice of DeWitt in their minds during the rest of his campaign.

"I gave him that pie and that story, so hopefully he will do the same for America one day."

After hearing his speech just feet from the doors of her shop, Hundt is reassured that is exactly what he'll do.
